A small operational team and a deliberately chosen advisory bench.

Horizon Clinical Nexus is founder-led, with a finance and strategy lead and a small group of advisors whose subject-matter expertise informs specific kinds of engagements. We are deliberately small. Each person on this page is here because they bring something specific to the work, not to round out a team page.

Kenneth Chikwelu, MBBS, MPH

Medical doctor with a Master's in Public Health (epidemiology concentration) and active membership in the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).

Kenneth's hands-on clinical research career spans roles as a sub-investigator, clinical research coordinator, regulatory support, and site manager at U.S. clinical research sites. Across these roles, he has supported 16+ pharmaceutical sponsor-led trials, spanning pediatric vaccines, infectious disease, cardiometabolic disease, respiratory medicine, and gastroenterology, including multiple phase 3 registrational studies.

Nigerian-born and U.S.-trained, with a longstanding focus on the scientific and ethical case for expanding rigorous clinical research into West Africa. Earlier in his career, he completed an internship at the St. Louis County Department of Public Health, coordinating care and contact tracing for hepatitis C cases, which grounded his understanding of communicable disease response and the social determinants that shape how trials reach patients.

He founded Horizon Clinical Nexus in 2026 to focus full-time on the operational, regulatory, and ethical work required to extend rigorous clinical research at U.S. sites today, and into Nigeria and West Africa next.

Founder

Godwin Paul, MS, MBA, M.Sc

Godwin leads financial planning and strategic advisory at Horizon Clinical Nexus, working alongside the founder on company finances, engagement pricing, and the longer-term commercial direction of the firm. His background spans finance roles in both U.S. and Nigerian contexts, including a prior role as co-founder and CFO of Irritechng, a Lagos-based company, where he built and ran financial operations from the ground up. That direct experience with operational finance in Nigeria is particularly relevant to Horizon Clinical Nexus's work on West African expansion.

He holds an M.Sc in Finance (Wealth and Assets Management) from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Science in Applied Financial Economics from Saint Louis University, along with certification from Wharton Online (Private Equity).
